Creating culinary magic
Ali Reza has held the position of Executive Chef at Parisa in Souq Waqif for four years and continues to create culinary magic with his much-beloved Persian-specialty dishes that evoke a sense of melancholia.
Popular amongst diners, Chef AliReza, is a vibrant personality and takes great pride in the food he recreates from his hometown, Tehran. Explaining each dish, its flavor combinations, and history is something he genuinely enjoys and is well recognized for curating.
With 20 years of experience in hotels and popular standalone restaurants, Chef AliReza carries certain culinary techniques and skills that have been honed over the years and complements his focused approach on cooking with quality ingredients and inspired recipes.
Parisa in Souq Waqif has gained a reputation with the global travellers and Qatar’s food lovers for serving authentic food within an almost surreal, mirrored palace-like restaurant, bringing to the fore the rich heritage of Persia.
People are always looking for something new. I'm excited to introduce them to more Iranian cuisine.
Having begun his career in 2003, Chef AliReza stuck to what he does best – Persian food and worked at the Olympic Hotel, Tehran from 2008-2009 and later at Divan Restaurant, from 2010-2016.
Chef AliReza is an expert with creating the very popular ‘kebab’ and numerous varieties that come with it while perfecting vegetarian recipes with fresh salads and traditional sweets.
Best-loved for his passionate take on ‘home recipes’, which he constantly develops with his contemporary cooking style, Chef AliReza truly makes Parisa, literally translated to ‘Pari,’ a whimsical dining affair.
This Persian signature dish is a rack of lamb marinated in saffron, onion, salt and pepper which is then barbecued with homemade spices for approximately 20 minutes before it is served with steaming flavoured rice on the side.
Located in the alleyways of Souq Waqif, Parisa is a feast for the senses, with its elaborate interiors studded with intricate mirror work and hand-painted artworks. Serving up a range of Persian specialties, the restaurant is a must for visitors. Reservations are recommended.
