Step into Qatar's maritime heritage in Al Ruwais, a coastal celebration of fishing traditions, artisan craftsmanship, and seaside culture. Immerse yourself in multiple experiences all set against the serene backdrop of Qatar's northern coastline.
The village's main stage hosts a curated programme of live entertainment every evening, from traditional Ardah sword dances. Highlight acts include "Between the Tide and the Pearl," a live theatre piece following three generations of a fishing family, and Fidjeri vocal performances deeply expressive ceremonial songs rooted in the pearl diving tradition.
Al Ruwais is located along Qatar's northern coastline, approximately 100 km north of Doha. The drive takes around one hour via the Al Shamal Road, making it an easy and scenic day trip from the capital.
Al Ruwais is a historic fishing town on Qatar's northern coast, long known for its fishing harbour and close-knit coastal community. AlRuwais is emerging as a destination that offers visitors an authentic window into the country's maritime roots far from the pace of the city, yet rich in culture, tradition, and natural coastal beauty.
