A stunning outdoor events space located at the heart of Education City, Doha.
The Ceremonial Green Spine was the first line drawn on Qatar Foundation’s master plan for Education City in 1992. This line connects two celebration spaces: Qatar National Convention Centre, an indoor space, and the Ceremonial Court, which is outdoors. It also divides the higher education facilities of the entire campus from those that offer primary and secondary education.
It is a beautiful multipurpose, open-air space that hosts significant events in Education City, such as QF Convocation, Qatar National Day, and more. Intricate lattice work featured across the Ceremonial Court makes up a concrete panel pergola system which encloses the space on three sides and leads to a stage located in the center of the southern boundary of the facility.
The space can be accessed via the Yellow line of the Education City Tram.
The Ceremonial Court and the Ceremonial Green Spine are accessible by car. Parking is available in the Ceremonial Court parking lot.
They are accessible by the Doha Metro. Education City station is the closest metro station.
Intricate lattice work features across the Ceremonial Court makes up a concrete panel pergola system which encloses the space on three sides and leads to a stage located in the center of the southern boundary of the facility. The informal amphitheater is located to the north and a formal stage area can be found to the south, with each accommodating up to 3,000 people.
The facilities and amenities include private rooms, north and south stage venues and dressing areas for performers.
Ceremonial Court has a gross floor area of 1,880 square meters and benefits from a central location within at the end of the central Green Spine.
A pool of water on the northern side of the court separates two grand entry stairways, preceded by palm tree courtyards, which are connected via a series of steps and ramps. Two 30 meter high lighting towers located at the level change between the higher and lower courtyards also make up Ceremonial Court.
Education City is home to branch campuses of some of the world’s leading educational institutes, a homegrown research university, start-up incubators, technology parks, heritage sites, cultural institutions, and much more.
