Education City Stadium's design embodies Qatar Foundation and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy's vision to use the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ as a catalyst for development. Architects Fenwick Iribarren Architects and Pattern Design brought this vision to life spectacularly. The stadium, with a capacity of 44 667, will continue to serve as a community focal point, featuring world-class sporting pavilions and training facilities for students and locals to enjoy, enriching the academic community's experience.
Facilities include football training pitches, a golf course and shops. Education City Stadium received three awards from the Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD): a five-star rating in Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) Design & Build certification, Class A* rating in GSAS Construction Management, and GSAS Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio certification. These awards are testament to Qatar's commitment to delivering sustainable infrastructure for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
