2024 AFC U23 Asian Cup

​The sixth edition of the AFC U23 Asian Cup saw Asia’s brightest young talents battle it out in Qatar from 15 April to 3 May 2024. Returning to Qatar for the second time, the tournament also doubled as the official qualifier for the men’s football competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics – raising the stakes and the excitement.

Qatar 2–4 Japan (Japan won on penalties after a 2-2 draw) 

South Korea 10–11 Indonesia (Indonesia won on penalties after a 2-2 draw)

Uzbekistan 2–0 Saudi Arabia

Just one win from the final

The journey ended here for Qatar, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam. With Olympic dreams and a place in the final on the line, the remaining four teams gave it their all.

One last shot at Paris 

Iraq and Indonesia battled it out for the final ticket to Paris 2024 in a thrilling third-place decider.

Japan clinched their second AFC U23 Asian Cup title with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Uzbekistan in a tightly contested final.
