Established in 1789 in Washington, DC, Georgetown University in Qatar. is focused on providing holistic education through exposure to different faiths, cultures, and beliefs, and through critical engagement with a range of ideas and points of view.

Founded in 2005 in partnership with Qatar Foundation, GU-Q builds upon the world-class reputation of Georgetown University in Washington D.C. and its schools across a variety of disciplines, and works with its partner Qatar Foundation (QF) to support and develop Qatar’s knowledge economy.

The Qatar campus of the university is dedicated to promoting intellectual, ethical, and spiritual understanding through serious and sustained discourse among people of different faiths, cultures, and beliefs. Through education, research, and service, it aims to advance knowledge and to provide students and the community with a holistic experience that produces global citizens committed to the service of humanity.
