Things To Do
Known as Palm Tree Beach, Umm Bab is a quiet west-coast escape for swimming, picnics and sunset camping.
With an unspoiled stretch of white sand on Qatar's western coast, the Umm Bab Beach is a rejuvenating and compelling beach destination that is known for its calming sunsets, stargazing and making the perfect place for sunbathing and swimming.
On Qatar’s west coast near Dukhan, Umm Bab Beach is best known for the clusters of palm trees that grow right along the shoreline, creating rare natural shade. With soft sand and calm, shallow waters, it’s a relaxed spot for a day by the sea with friends or family.
Often called Palm Tree Beach, Umm Bab combines open coastline with nearby desert dunes, giving you a distinctive desert-meets-sea setting that’s ideal for photography and long beach walks.
The beach is a favourite for camping and barbecuing, especially in cooler months. Come late afternoon for golden-hour views, stay for sunset, and if you’re spending the night, enjoy stargazing away from the city lights.
Facilities are limited and there are no lifeguards, so it’s best to bring your own water, food, shade, and anything you need for a comfortable beach day or overnight camp.
