My story

I moved to Qatar in January 2020 and started working for Al Messila in March, during the lockdown. In that time, I tried to find new things to do. After visiting the must-see spots like Souq WaqifPearl and Katara Cultural Village, I was ready to explore a bit more. I discovered kitesurfing in Zekreet and started taking classes with a Qatari instructor. The weather conditions in Qatar are great and I could have a perfect break from the busy hotel life while also discovering that there is a beautiful community around this sport. It’s not easy to practice this anywhere in the world, as good weather conditions are needed.

Qatar's hidden gems

My recommendation

The best season to visit is from October until February, when the weather is pleasant and therefore is a very active season. To fully experience local culture, you can try various activities, such as camping overnight in the desert.

What to do in a few days in Qatar

If you are only staying for a couple of days in the country, my suggestion would be to stay in Doha and visit the main sights and attractions in the city.

If you have more days to spend, I would strongly recommend you visit Purple Island to enjoy the magnificent sunset.

Moreover, you can experience SUP in the Pearl, surrounded by truly amazing scenery.
