I co-created The Outpost in 2020 – a place where you can disconnect from hectic city life and reconnect with nature. Nestled within Qatar's unique Inland Sea nature reserve, The Outpost Al Barari offers an unparalleled luxury experience that seamlessly blends opulence with the serene beauty of the desert. We aim to integrate close-to-nature experiences, sustainability and luxury hospitality into one iconic concept.
This exclusive resort features 21 tented villas, each thoughtfully designed to offer maximum privacy and an authentic connection to nature. Surrounded by majestic sand dunes and untouched wilderness, it is the perfect sanctuary for those seeking a tranquil escape from the fast-paced world.
The Outpost Al Barari integrates eco-friendly practices throughout its operations to minimise environmental impact. The resort is planned to be powered by solar energy, reflecting its commitment to renewable solutions. Guests can engage in meaningful experiences such as guided nature walks, desert safaris, and stargazing sessions designed to foster a deeper appreciation of the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Culinary experiences at the resort are equally exceptional. Farm-to-table dining highlights fresh, local ingredients, while The Al Barari Restaurant serves up international cuisine. For a more relaxed atmosphere, the Tea and Cigar Lounge offers the perfect setting for afternoon refreshments. Those seeking rejuvenation can unwind at the resort’s spa, where personalised wellness treatments are inspired by the calming rhythms of the desert.
In essence, The Outpost Al Barari is a beacon of sustainable luxury—inviting guests to immerse themselves in an experience that both celebrates and preserves the timeless beauty of Qatar’s desert landscape.
I am happy and proud to say that things ran smoothly for us. We developed a very clear concept and stayed true to it from the beginning, which is always so important. At the same time, we have a trustful and competent Qatari investor who facilitated the process. It took us two years to orchestrate and finalise everything, while usually, it takes four to five years as, on average, for a similar type of business to be developed and completed. Things can definitely be bureaucratic, but I can say that it is easy overall if you follow the below:
The country is a haven for entrepreneurs seeking to build their businesses and make their dreams come true. Entrepreneurship in Qatar is fast growing; government entities assist the process, making it easier to manage the three pillars explained above.
Connectivity definitely helps; the country is very well positioned. Lastly, Qatar has a natural beauty not fully explored yet and offers excellent opportunities for sustainable tourism.
