This iconic venue is among Qatar’s most prestigious sports arenas and was named in honour of the former Minister of Education, Jassim bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Thani. Beyond the football pitch, the stadium complex boasts a range of facilities, including a café, a mosque, an athletics track and a multi-sports hall.

How to get there?

  • There are four Al Saad Sports Club bus stops around the complex where the Karwa bus regularly stops. 

  • The Al Sudan Doha Metro station on the Gold Line is a 10-minute walk away from the stadium.

HISTORY AND DESIGN

The Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium was originally built in 1974 and underwent renovations in 2004 and 2010. Today, the stadium boasts seating capacity for over 12 000 spectators. This iconic venue is named in honour of the former Minister of Education, Jassim bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Thani

The stadium's glittering past

Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium boasts a thrilling football legacy. In 2004, it hosted every match of the Arabian Gulf Cup. 

Since then, it's been the stage for various international events, including the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup, 2006 Asian Games, 2011 Pan Arab Games, and two editions of the Italian Super Cup, the Supercoppa Italiana.
