Biography

"My name is Elmira Kahrobaie, and I'm originally from Iran. I am a mother and wife, and hotelier by training. I love to share tips and tricks to empower other women, whether this is about lifestyle, beauty, motherhood or fashion.

I have been awarded several times as an influenser in my country, and everything I do, I do with love. This is my job for almost seven years now, and I have been working with international and local Qatari brands that have been evolving over the years. It is lovely to see myself growing in a country I have called home for 16 years."

My stories

IDAM Restaurant

Wandering around the Souqs

The Gold Souq is a place that always impresses me; the customer service is excellent each and every time I visit. The perfume shops at Souq Waqif is are another one of my favourite locations in Doha. I always find my favourite perfume there or I can even create one I truly love.

My evening walks

I enjoy evening walks around the city. Souq Waqif by night and Katara Cultural Village are my top two destinations for beautiful sunset walks and valuable moments of relaxing and unwinding.

Family time

Spending time with my family is always my priority! Salwa Beach Resort is a major leisure destination, ideal for families. Also, their waterpark is incredible.

My travel tips

Pack for beach and city life.

Bring a hoodie or a denim jacket, indoor places can get very cold, or you can buy your very own pashmina from a souq.

Don't worry if you don't have exchanged money or cash; you can pay for almost everything, everywhere with a credit card.

Spend at least four days in Doha to be able to visit everything.

Great to travel with kids.

Day 1- Explore and enjoy

Start your day with a Banana Island trip. Take the ferry to the island, spend the day by the beach and enjoy water activities. You can have a massage or a facial and have lunch there. After watching the sunset, take the ferry back to the city and wander around Souq Waqif and the Gold Souq. At the Gold Souq, you can find many great shops where you can shop for high-quality jewelry. Don't forget to bargain. I strongly recommend "Shine Jewelry".

For excellent carpets, head to the Carpet Souq, right next to the Gold Souq, where you can find Iranian carpets at incredible prices. "Hayat Gallery Carpet" is recommended.

You can then head to Souq Waqif and shop for nuts, honey, spices, handicrafts or souvenirs.

If you're feeling hungry, go to Parisa; a place with inspiring interiors and delicious food.

Day 2- Wander around and shop

Start your day by enjoying breakfast anywhere at the Pearl; there are many restaurants available and I highly suggest walking around to experience the neighbourhood fully. Then, head to Katara Cultural Village and Galeries Lafayette for the ultimate shopping experience; you can also find various local brands.

If you want to have a glimpse of Qatar's stadiums, take the Metro and head to Aspire Zone. Then, for some more shopping, go to Villaggio Mall, where you can find luxury boutiques such as Panarai, Bulgari, Valentino, Gucci, Celine, Bottega Veneta, Dior, Tom Ford, Luis Vuitton, Fendi, YSL, and many more as well as many other highstreet brands.

Next on the list would be Mall of Qatar, also easily accessible by Metro, where you can also find various luxurious brands.

And we shouldn't leave out Doha Festival City, where you can find Harvey Nichols.

For dinner, I would recommend Toro Toro in the Marsa Malaz Kempinski at the Pearl.

Day 3- Unwind and relax

Today is a day to relax. I suggest you visit Salwa Beach Resort for a sensational experience. It's approximately an hour-long drive from the city. The resort is located in the middle of the desert and offers many recreational facilities. For dinner, try Dante.

Day 4- Discover popular attractions

You can start your day by visiting the Museum of Islamic Art and Qatar National Museum; two of Doha's iconic museums, and enjoy a walk at the Corniche. Wander around the stunning Msheireb Downtown and have a bite at Colonial in Alwadi Hotel.
