To enjoy the serene beauty of Zekreet beach, follow the direct freeways that lead there on a 75-km-long ride from Doha. The beach is located near Zekreet village and you will need to take a short off-road drive to approach it. It is accessible by standard cars as well as 4 x 4s. On a large inlet with shallow water, the beach is more popular with Kite Boarders than swimmers. It offers astonishing views as you spend a day out in the fresh coastal air. For an exciting 4 x 4 ride, the fascinating limestone landscapes are ready to be explored. Admire the amazing shapes and features from years of wind and water erosion. On your walk along the beach, you may catch a glimpse of wildlife; migratory birds and exotic animals such as oryxes, ostriches, gazelles and flamingos. Located 130 km from Doha, the road to the abandoned villages is rocky, so its best to use a 4 x 4. However, a sedan can be used to access the place too. Visiting these villages gives a good overview of traditional building techniques. For instance, the walls are thick to keep the heat away. As you walk around the abandoned ruins, notice the mosque, which is located at the heart of every village. After you are done exploring, stroll along the beach and watch the sunset over the water.
