Located on the Doha Corniche, the Mina District is accessible via car, taxi, or ride hailing apps. Alternatively, the Mina District is a 20-minute walk from the National Museum Metro station which can be reached via the Gold Line. Entry is free, and there is ample parking available right outside the Mina District and at Box Park.

What used to be the Old Doha Port has been completely transformed into a vibrant tourist attraction. Following four years of construction work, Doha Port now houses a stunning Grand Terminal building where impressive cruise ships dock during the winter cruise season. A short walk from the newly renovated Doha Port, the Mina District radiates a warm ambience with its vibrant painted buildings lining Doha’s waters.

Highlights of the Mina District

Get your cameras ready to capture pretty buildings and alleyways in this marina neighbourhood, where you’ll find great shopping, cosy eateries and a beautiful fresh fish market.

Pay a visit to the camera-friendly Box Park – a development built with brightly coloured shipping containers. Find your country’s flag at Flag Plaza, or visit the Museum of Islamic Art. The must-see Souq Waqif is also nearby, as well as Al Bidda Park

Get the catch of the day at Chabrat Al Mina, the new fish market and restaurant. Under a beautiful glass ceiling you can stock up on salmon, scallops, tuna, sea bass, crabs, squids, oysters, mussels and tuna. Or enjoy a seafood feast at the stylish Chabrat Al Mina restaurant next door, where chefs skilfully prepare the catch of the day. The restaurant boasts a stunning design, where beaming lights reflect on the entrance’s walls, creating a mesmerising display of light and shadow. Its architecture, inspired by the serene blue tones of the water, creates a sense of tranquillity.
