HISTORY AND CONSTRUCTION

Designed as a temporary stadium for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, Stadium 974 stands out with its innovative modular design.

Created by Spain's Fenwick Iribarren Architects in collaboration with Schlaich Bergermann Partner and Hilson Moran, this stadium utilised repurposed shipping containers and recycled steel, resulting in cost-effective construction and reduced waste.

Each container was adapted to accommodate various stadium elements, including seats, concessions, and restrooms, making it a versatile and sustainable sporting venue.
