It’s time to get active! Get ready for Qatar's annual celebration of fitness and health. Check out the exciting sports events, family activities, and special appearances you won’t want to miss on your day off.
Qatar is one of the few countries in the world with a national holiday dedicated to sport. Schools, offices, and shops are closed for the day to create an opportunity for everyone to join in physical activities and encourage healthy living.
The first National Sports Day in Qatar was declared in 2012 by the Deputy Emir of Qatar, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Today, the occasion encompasses events for people of all ages and abilities, education around sports and its importance, as well as special appearances by sporting stars.
