Things to do

Al Safliya island

The small uninhabited island of Al Safliya lies off the coast of Doha, south of the Pearl.

A natural paradise with almost no facilities, it’s the perfect destination for nature lovers to enjoy the sun, simply relax or take on various water activities.

On the southern part of the island, wooden umbrellas lie on the beach, letting visitors enjoy the sun. There are no restrooms or other facilities on the island though- so if you are planning a visit, make sure you bring your own supplies.

To reach Al Safliya, you can take a dhow boat from either the Pearl Qatar or Doha Corniche and cover the distance in 10 minutes and 30 minutes respectively.

Apart from lounging in the sun, swimming in the clear waters, and admiring the mesmerising views of the Doha skyline, you can try one of the various water sports available on the island; jet skiing, banana boat rides, swimming, paddle boarding and many more.

To end your day, watch the sunset on the beach as the vistas of the Doha skyline offer a magical spectacle – the most picturesque spot to take photos.
